Death
I do not know why I keep dreaming morbidly recently.
Just last night, I dreamt that I crashed head-on with another car. I think I kinda experienced how it felt - no pain, but blackout, coupled with my thoughts "Here I come, God". When I awoke, I wasn't afraid lah, but rather bemused of how come I would dream such a thing.
During my afternoon nap (yes, you can see how bored I am), I dreamt of a small bottle of ashes of a loved one's mother. Throughout the dream, the word 'appropriation' was strongly repeated in my head.
How weird.
On a less morbid note, Jetstar is having offer for their flights again! From $0! of course, when you add taxes and all, you'll end up having to pay abt $170 to fly to bangkok, and $232 to fly to hongkong. My heart is really itchy, but it's a bit hard to plan for next year this early eh?
And to all of you, can you please update your blogs? I am so ultimately bored that I screen through them a few times a day, but always end up stuck at the same post. heh. It feels like the whole world is on a standstill.
Not my plans, but Yours
Today, a colleague shared with me a secret that sorta crashed my world. He told me that I have been assigned to teach a Primary 1 class next year. I flipped, because I didn't want to teach in an afternoon session. I flipped, because I thought I had enough stretching for this year, where my patience was sorely tested and proven not enough.
Not only that, they want me to be in English and PE Committee. They are the committees I least want to join. I had wanted to focus on Maths and Science, but alas, it seems that I am given the exact opposite to what I desire.
I do feel shaken at first, and it's slowly wearing off after 6 hours. It feels like being thrown into the open sea again, totally out of comfort zone. Just when I was settling down thinking I have overcome the worst, my secure boat is shaken again. I asked God if this was his will. Somehow, the peace sinks in to comfort my troubled soul. I believe God has his plans in these, and nothing will be wasted for His glory. Knowing this really comforts me, and I am secure once again. Come what may, I do my best, and whatever I do, I do it all for the glory of God.
How to Fight Melancholy
1. Smile and be joyful.
2. Give other people 100% attention instead of yourself.
3. Prevent negative and insecure thoughts from nesting in your head.
4. Take life easy - enjoy the little pleasures in life.
5. Stop dwelling on unhappy thoughts.
6. Be contented.
7. Remember that God loves you even when you feel unloved.
8. Appreciate little acts of kindness and love, and harp on them often.

Fated to love you

Finally finished all 24 episodes of this! This Taiwan drama 'Fated to love you' has broken all records and is currently the number 1 Taiwan drama.. The plot is rather interesting, and of cos, being a sucker for romance drama, it left me glued to the screen for hours.
Of course, I watched 'fated to love you' after a 2 week break from the last one (see below). Also interesting story, though I don't really like the male lead's acting as a phelgmatic guy. But he still captures my heart because he is tall, good looking, a doctor, and looks great in shirts with folded sleeves! muahahahha...

haha.. enough of dramas lah. I wonder what is the next one I should watch. They are really time-consuming, and cause me to be a couch potato during most of my free time. Still, they are kind of a respite to everyday life.
While my blood pressure rose last week because of teaching the kids, this week is amazingly different. I really don't understand how come each day can be so different since I employ the same discipline techniques and all. But one thing I found myself doing different is that I talk much more now. Instead of just telling them to do this and that, I become more relational and personal. I would talk to them about how I feel about their behaviour, their results, etc. It somehow works with them. So teaching has taught me how to expound on my statements.
Anyway, it's PSLE marking days from today all the way to next Tues. But I'm exempted, because i'm going for another Lasik op today, and will get MC for one week. now now, brown cow, what should i do for one week man!
If you knew me then...
Ever wondered how you would look in the 1950s?
Thanks to www.yearbookyourself.com, I had great fun discovering how I would look from 1950s to 2000! Enjoy!
What a Sad World..
I don't know if it's the sign of adulthood or what, but somehow, I seem to be facing more and more sad events in life.
In this last month, I have:
- 3 colleagues whom loved ones passed away
- 1 colleague whose cousin was knocked down by a bus and is fighting for her life
- 1 colleague who had a miscarriage
- 1 friend whose fiancee is a flirt
- students whose family backgrounds are complicated and dysfunctional
- heard of 3 couples who are in the midst of divorce - all Christians
I guess it's the reality of the world lah. As a student last time, I was so protected of such things. Nowadays, I find myself in situations where no word can comfort the grieving and the hurt. With a sombre heart, perhaps the best comfort is really a hug and a prayer for them.
And with such sadness, it's time to get rid of that sad song "The Winner takes it all" - does no good for the soul. This song is much more appropriate! How can we ever live in this sad world without God?
