Insight from Little Chili

My chili plants have been growing well in my new pot with good soil. It is really true that the better the soil, the faster they grow.

I glanced over to Joseph's chili plants which are still in that styrofoam cup, and was surprised to see them still alive and green, but still at the very same height that they were 2 weeks ago.

We came to a conclusion: Because the roots are in shallow soil, they cannot grow deep. And hence, the plants cannot grow anymore. Yes, they are still alive, but they cannot grow anymore.

It was a very good reminder for me - 2008 is a year of growing deeper roots.
